Calgary, Chicago, Detroit headline 2025-26 PWHL Takeover Tour sites

The Professional Women’s Hockey League is hitting the road once again, taking the PWHL Takeover Tour to 11 different cities across a record 16-game schedule in the 2025-26 season.
The 2024-25 Takeover Tour saw each of Vancouver and Seattle impress among others, earning the league’s first expansion teams with the Vancouver Goldeneyes and Seattle Torrent now set to drop the puck as the league’s seventh and eighth teams on Nov. 21.
While those cities aren’t in the Takeover Tour, the next expansion markets might just be. Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Edmonton and Halifax will host two Takeover Tour games, while Calgary, Dallas, Hamilton, Québec City, Washington, D.C. and Winnipeg will host a single game.
Denver, Detroit, Edmonton and Québec City each hosted games during the 2024-25 Takeover Tour, with Québec City drawing the largest crowd among those markets, selling out the Videotron Centre with 18,259 fans.
In total, the 2024-25 PWHL Takeover Tour drew 123,601 fans across the nine stops. It also set attendance records for women’s professional hockey in the U.S., with 14,018 fans in Denver and 14,288 fans in Detroit.
The entire 16-game 2025-26 Takeover Tour, featuring neutral-site games, will be played between Dec. 17, 2025 and April 7, 2026, primarily using venues that host NHL franchises as their primary occupants.
The Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens and Vancouver Goldeneyes will each play in five Takeover Tour games, while the Ottawa Charge and Seattle Torrent will play four each. The Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost and Toronto Sceptres will take part in three.
“Season Two’s PWHL Takeover Tour was the first of its kind, giving fans across North America the chance to experience the excitement of a regular-season game in their home venues,” said Amy Scheer, PWHL Executive Vice President of Business Operations. “The passion and support from fans, and the enthusiasm from cities eager to engage with our league, have fueled our ambition to grow the Tour for Season Three.”
