Can Dubois find his mojo with the Capitals?

A talented player who has been unable to find consistency is getting another shot in a new home.
On Wednesday, the Washington Capitals acquired Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings for goaltender Darcy Kuemper. The move caught some off guard, as it was not widely known whether or not there were any players interested in Dubois amid a tumultuous run in Hollywood.
However, Dubois will have the chance to prove himself in the American capital on a rebuilding team that still has talented players like Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson in its arsenal. The Quebec native came into the NHL with loads of talent, but has not been able to put all his tools together in order to be one of the top players in game like some expected he could.
Dubois ended last season with the Kings with 16 goals and 40 points in 82 games, his lowest point total in a full season in his career. The question is, can he get return to being a strong threat down the middle in Washington?
That question was asked during Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, as Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed what the move could do to help Dubois find his mojo once again.
Frank Seravalli: You’re thinking at some point [Dubois] snaps his head on straight and could maybe blossom into a 75, 80-point center. I think a lot needs to go right…He wasn’t even close to earning more [ice time] last year. That’s on him. He’ll get a better chance at Washington, instantly inserted into their top six. What does he make of the opportunity? This is his eighth year in the league and he’s with his fourth different team.
