Sources told Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli that netminder Arturs Silovs will start Game 4 for the Vancouver Canucks, as Casey DeSmith is injured. He will be the third different starting goaltender for the Canucks in four games against the Predators.

Puck drop for Game 4 is at 5 p.m. EST / 2 p.m. PST.

The Latvian goaltender was drafted in the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in four games with the Canucks, with a 3-0-1 record with a .881 SV%. He was 16-11-6 with four shutouts, a .907% and 2.74 GAA with the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks in 2023-24.

Last season, Silovs had a 26-12-5 record with four shutouts, a .909 SV% and a 2.44 GAA in Abbotsford.

Thatcher Demko, who compiled a 35-14-2 with a .918 SV% in 51 games with the Canucks this season, stopped 22 of 24 shots in Game 1 against the Predators. However, he was ruled out of Game 2 and didn’t play in Game 3, with Seravalli reporting that his status for the rest of the series was questionable.

DeSmith allowed three goals on 15 shots in a 4-1 loss to Nashville in Game 2, but stopped 29 of 30 shots in a 2-1 Game 3 win on Friday.

The Canucks had a successful regular season, posting a 50-23-9 record with 109 points, finishing first in the Pacific Division. It was a major step up from last season, where they posted a 38-37-7 record with 83 points, sixth in the Pacific Division and 11th in the Western Conference.
