In the midst of a five-game road trip, the Carolina Hurricanes are getting back one of their top forwards.

On Wednesday, the team announced that winger Seth Jarvis has been activated off injured reserve.

In addition, Carolina has called up forward Skyler Brind’Amour from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate Chicago Wolves while sending down forward Bradley Nadeau.

Jarvis, 24, began this season on the injured non-roster list as he continued to recover from offseason shoulder surgery, and is in line to make his season debut against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

Last season, the Winnipeg native had 32 goals and 34 assists for 66 points in 71 games, and then contributed four goals and seven assists for 11 points in 19 playoff games en route to the Hurricanes winning the Stanley Cup. He also put up no goals and one assist in five games for the silver medal-winning Canadian men’s national team at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics in February.

Selected 13th overall by Carolina in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Jarvis immediately proved he belonged in the NHL with 40 points in his rookie season of 2021-22, finishing 13th in voting for the Calder Trophy. After a 39-point campaign in his second year, Jarvis made the leap to 33 goals and 34 assists for 67 points over 81 games in the 2023-24 season, and has maintained that level of pruduction since.

Brind’Amour, 27, has two goals and an assist for three points in six games with the Wolves this season. Nadeau, 21, registered no goals and two assists in three games for Carolina.

With an 8-2-1 record through 11 games, the Hurricanes sit atop the Metropolitan Division with 17 points. Following Thursday’s game in Edmonton, Carolina will finish up its road trip against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
