Hurricanes’ Seth Jarvis says injury rehab has gone great

One of the more important players on the Carolina Hurricanes is feeling good and a little loose heading into the new year.
When speaking to the media during the NHL Player Media Tour in Las Vegas on Monday, Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis was asked about the condition of his shoulder, which has been an ongoing issue for him over the past couple of years.
Jarvis admitted that rehab has gone well for him, expressing confidence to those in attendance.
“I can rip out some pushups right now if you want,” Jarvis exclaimed.
Good update for Canes fans from Seth Jarvis re: his shoulder:
Rehab has gone great, "I can rip out some pushups right now if you want." Even said he'd be open to Rod Brind'Amour trying him at center again.
For the second summer in a row, Jarvis decided not to get surgery on his right shoulder, citing that it wasn’t an injury that was inhibiting his play, rather that it was more of an issue of pain tolerance. The Winnipeg native did miss nine games during the regular season due to injury, including being placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury in November.
Yet, the ailment seemed like it barely limited Jarvis’ production. In 73 regular-season contests, he scored 32 goals and 35 assists for 67 points, leading the Canes in goals while finishing second in scoring behind Sebastian Aho. In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Jarvis was an important piece in helping Carolina get to the Eastern Conference Final, ultimately losing to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. In 15 games, he led his team with 10 assists and 16 points. Only he and Aho averaged a point per game in the postseason.
When talking to the media on Monday, Jarvis admitted he’d be willing to go back to being a center again, though he has the ability to play on the wing as well.
His production during the 2024-25 campaign was similar to that of the 2023-24 season, in which Jarvis posted 33 goals and 34 assists for 67 points, albeit in 81 games. The 23-year-old has provided a significant amount of scoring and energy to a Carolina team that has been one of the best in the Eastern Conference for the past several seasons.
In 304 regular-season games in the NHL, Jarvis has posted 96 goals and 117 assists for 213 points. He has also scored 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 55 playoff affairs.
