Now signed through the end of the 2022–23 season, de Haan will look to carve out a role as a member of a Carolina defensive corps that also includes Jaccob Slavin, Brent Burns, Brady Skjei, Brett Pesce, Ethan Bear, Dylan Coghlan, and Jalen Chatfield.
Most recently, de Haan logged 18:57 on average and scored eight points (four goals, four assists) in 69 games with the Blackhawks in 2021–22.
