Hurricanes sign Skyler Brind’Amour to one-year, two-way contract

The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward Skyler Brind’Amour to a one-year, two-way contract, according to PuckPedia. The deal will keep him with the club through the 2025-26 season.

The contract will pay him $775,000 at the NHL level and $90,000 in the minors, with a guarantee of $100,000.
Brind’Amour spent the majority of the 2024-25 season with the Hurricanes’ AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, scoring 16 goals and eight assists for 24 points and 40 penalty minutes in 68 regular-season games. He also appeared in two games with the Hurricanes, scoring his first-career NHL goal April 17 against the Ottawa Senators.
In 122 career AHL regular-season games, Brind’Amour, a native of Raleigh, N.C., has 19 goals and 13 assists for 32 points and 50 penalty minutes with the Wolves and Charlotte Checkers.
Before turning professional, Brind’Amour, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers, spent four seasons playing college hockey with Quinnipiac University, scoring 23 goals and 53 assists for 76 points in 145 career NCAA games.
Brind’Amour’s best college season came in 2022-23, scoring 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points in 41 games.
Before enrolling at Quinnipiac, Brind’Amour spent two seasons playing with the BCHL’s Chilliwack Chiefs, scoring 23 goals and 45 assists for 68 points in 104 career games.
The Hurricanes went 47-30-5 with 99 points in 2024-25, finishing second in the Metropolitan Division. After eliminating both the New Jersey Devils and Washington Capitals, Carolina was eliminated in five games by the Florida Panthers.
Forward Sebastian Aho led the team in points with 74, scoring 29 goals and 45 assists. Seth Jarvis led the team in goals with 32.
