Cole Caufield continues to be clutch for the Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens fans were treated to an all-time ending Thursday night, as Cole Caufield scored both the game-tying goal and the game-winning goal to give the Habs a 3-2 overtime win over the Nashville Predators.
Caufield, now in his sixth NHL season, has five goals through five games, tied for second in the league.
On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton discuss Caufield’s performance and how clutch the 24-year-old may be among his NHL peers.
Tyler Yaremchuk: There’s maybe a case that he’s one of the most clutch players, at least when we talk regular-season hockey, in the NHL right now. Caufield is the fastest player in league history to get to 10 overtime goals, and last night, he won the game for the Canadiens in OT.
Without Caufield, this game doesn’t even get to OT. This tying goal is one of the craziest we’ll see all season. It’s a chance for an empty net, but Lane Hutson blocks it and within seconds, Caufield puts it behind Juuse Saros.

Carter Hutton: It just shows you the awareness of Caufield when that shot is blocked. There’s not much time left, but he’s gone, stretching the game out and at the far blue line. That’s a goal that doesn’t go in the majority of the time, but Caufield has an absolute laser. What a play by Hutson and Caufield.
In their last 14 regular-season games at home, the Canadiens are 12-0-2, which is an unbelievable number dating back to last year. This is a fun team to watch, and the excitement in Montreal is real.
