Colorado Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri will have an in-person hearing for a hit to the head of St. Louis Blues defenceman Justin Faulk.

Kadri, 30, clipped the defenceman in the chest and head after he fired a shot on the Avs net in the third frame.

He was assessed a five-minute major and ejected from the game. Faulk, meanwhile, went down hard and did not return to the game.

“That’s a very dangerous hit,” Blues captain Ryan O’Reilly said after the game. “It’s gotta be a suspension. He’s a repeat offender. It’s completely uncalled for.”

Kadri is no stranger to the NHL’s department of player safety.

He’s been suspended five times by the league since 2013, twice in the playoffs with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
