The NHL has suspended repeat offender Nazem Kadri eight games for a hit to the head of Justin Faulk.

Kadri, 30, clipped Faulk in the head Wednesday night and Faulk, who appeared to be knocked out, remained on the ice but left under his own ability.

The NHL said the hit was to the head and was one that was avoidable.

The Colorado Avalanche forward was assessed a five-minute major and ejected from the game.

He’s been suspended five times by the league since 2013, twice in the playoffs with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
