Another member of the Avalanche’s Stanley Cup-winning team is sticking around in Colorado.

According to Frank Seravalli, the Avs and restricted free agent winger Artturi Lehkonen have agreed to a five-year contract worth $4.5 million annually.

The Avs acquired Lehkonen from the Montreal Canadiens ahead of the trade deadline back in March in exchange for prospect Justin Barron and a second-round draft pick.

Lehkonen scored six goals and nine points in 16 regular-season games for the Avs and then he scored eight goals and 14 points over the course of 20 playoff games. Lehkonen was also one of Colorado’s most-used forwards on the penalty kill.

Through six seasons in the NHL, the 27-year-old Lehkonen has scored 80 goals and 158 points across 412 games. The 19 goals and 38 points he scored between Montreal and Colorado this season represented a career-high in both categories.

Lehkonen was a restricted free agent coming off of a one-year, $2.3 million deal signed with Montreal. He had one more year left of team control before he was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.
