Avalanche sign Parker Kelly to four-year contract extension

The Colorado Avalanche announced Tuesday that forward Parker Kelly to a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2029-30 season. The deal will pay him $1.7 million per season.

In 2024-25, Kelly scored eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 80 regular-season games. He led the team with 161 hits and recorded 72 blocked shots, fifth on the team.

In 257 career regular-season games, Kelly had 25 goals and 29 assists for 54 points with the Avalanche and Ottawa Senators.

Kelly has also appeared in 128 career AHL games with the Belleville Senators, scoring 26 goals and 23 assists for 49 points. An undrafted forward, Kelly signed with the Senators as a free agent in September 2017.

Kelly spent four seasons in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders. He scored 93 goals and 95 assists for 188 points in 273 regular-season games. His best season came in 2018-19, scoring 35 goals and 32 assists for 67 points in 64 games. That spring, he scored eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 23 games, helping the Raiders win a WHL Championship in 2019.

The Avalanche went 49-29-4 with 102 points in 2024-25, finishing third in the Central Division. They were eliminated by the Dallas Stars in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring.

Nathan MacKinnon led the team in scoring with 32 goals and 84 assists for 116 points in 79 regular-season games. Right behind him was Cale Makar, who scored a career-high 30 goals and 62 assists for 92 points.
