Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon tests positive for COVID-19

Superstar forward Nathan MacKinnon has tested positive for COVID-19, Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar said Tuesday.

While asymptomatic, MacKinnon will miss at least club’s first game: a home opener Wednesday at home against Chicago.

Avalanche GM Joe Sakic, however, said the team is optimistic he can return for another home game Saturday against the Blues.
