Blue Jackets’ Isac Lundestrom out week-to-week with lower-body injury

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Isac Lundestrom will “likely miss a week or two” with a lower-body injury, according to The Athletic’s Aaron Portzline.
Told #CBJ Isac Lindeström (lower body) will likely miss a week or two, which seems like good news considering how that looked on Saturday.
According to The Hockey Writers’ Mark Scheig, Lundestrom needed help off the ice at practice over the weekend. He did not play in the team’s game on Sunday against the New York Islanders.
Through 35 games with the Blue Jackets this season, Lundestrom has one goal and four assists for five points. He signed a two-year deal with Columbus last July.
In 2024-25, Lundestrom scored four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 79 regular-season games with the Anaheim Ducks. Through eight NHL seasons, Lundestrom has 36 goals and 53 assists for 89 points in 372 career regular-season games.
His best season came in 2021-22, scoring 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points.
Lundestrom also played 55 AHL regular-season games with the San Diego Gulls, scoring six goals and 21 assists for 27 points.
Drafted No. 23 overall by the Ducks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Lundestrom played in his native Sweden, scoring 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 108 games with Lulea HF in the Swedish Elite League.
Internationally, he represented Sweden at the World Junior Championships twice, scoring three goals and three assists for six points in 12 games across the two tournaments. He helped them earn silver in 2018.
The Blue Jackets are 16-15-6 with 38 points, last in both the Metropolitan Division and Eastern Conference. Their minus-15 goal differential is last in the East and tied for 26th in the league.
Zach Werenski leads Columbus in all offensive categories, with 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points. He’s second among NHL defenders in both goals and points.
