Blue Jackets re-sign Jack Williams to two-year, two-way extension

The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed forward Jack Williams to a two-year, two-way contract through the 2027-28 season, PuckPedia reported Monday.

Williams, 24, was going to be a restricted free agent on July 1. The first year of the new deal will pay him $850,000 at the NHL level and $100,000 at the AHL level, with a minimum guarantee of $135,000. In year two, he’ll make $900,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 in the minors, with a minimum guarantee of $215,000.

The Biddeford, Maine, native is coming off a 2025-26 season with the Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, where he scored 15 goals and added 23 assists for 38 points in 72 regular-season games.

An undrafted free agent out of college, Williams signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Blue Jackets in March 2025.

He also made his NHL debut with Columbus in April 2025, playing 11:09 of ice time. It’s the only NHL game of his young career.

He spent three seasons playing with Northeastern University, where he scored 39 goals and added 55 assists for 94 points in 106 career NCAA games. He served as captain in his third season and scored 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points in 37 games.
