Connor McDavid unanimously wins Hart Trophy

There was no doubt that Connor McDavid was going to be named this year’s Hart Trophy winner.
McDavid put together a historically good season for the Edmonton Oilers in 2021, scoring 105 points over the course of 56 games, a 154-point pace over a normal 82-game schedule.
Connor McDavid is just the second unanimous Hart Trophy winner in NHL history, joining Wayne Gretzky.
He got 100 of 100 first place votes from @ThePHWA. 💯

McDavid received 100 out of a possible 100 first-place votes from the Professional Hockey Writers Association, joining Wayne Gretzky as one of the two players ever to win the league’s most valuable player unanimously.
This is the second Hart Trophy win of McDavid’s career. His first came back in 2016-17 when he scored a league-leading 100 points and helped the Oilers end a decade-long playoff drought. I imagine this also won’t be his last.
