As we dive into the month of November, teams are trying to establish the line between contenders and pretenders. However, there is plenty of time for teams to turn their seasons around with a good stretch of play, and maybe a few important transactions.

The Buffalo Sabres came into the 2024-25 campaign with the expectations (once again) that they would improve after another down year. Yet, it is looking like that might not come to fruition again. With wins in just four of their first 12 games of the season, the Sabres are tied for last in the Atlantic Division with the Montreal Canadiens, both sitting in the bottom five of the league standings.

There are still plenty of holes in the lineup. Whether it be a lack of scoring depth or the defense not being strong enough in its own zone, Buffalo cannot seem to find the winning formula fans have been craving for over a decade.

They can certainly try to fix the problems if general manager Kevyn Adams were to make a trade to bring in some fresh blood. According to CapWages, the Sabres have over $6.2 million in cap space, with 42 of a possible 50 contracts on the books.

On Monday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli discuss whether or not a move made by the Sabres to save their season would be worth it.

Frank Seravalli: Look at the Sabres, they’re off to their worst start in a long time. They’re five years into his Kevyn Adams “build.” I’d be real surprised if in the next, if this continues, in the next week or two, we don’t see a significant Buffalo Sabres trade to figure this out because [Buffalo’s] not good enough and not close. You can’t allow this season to swirl down the drain.
