Coyotes announce Goodwill as official home helmet sponsor

The Arizona Coyotes have announced that Goodwill has been named the official helmet sponsor for all home games at Mullett Arena.

The Coyotes will also have a “Round Up at the Register” program to help donate funds for Goodwill as part of the deal. Goodwill logos will appear on digital signage at games, with players also making appearances at future store openings.

Obviously, there are a few jokes to be made about the partnership. But we’ll leave that up to you.

PHNX reporter Craig Morgan said, “Jokes aside, Goodwill brings affordable goods to disadvantaged families all over N. America. Aligns w/Coyotes’ stated goal: Leverage power of sports to be leader in community impact (first Native American gaming enterprise as jersey sponsor). Per source, deal’s worth nearly $1M.”

On the road, the Coyotes have sponsorship from PPE company Med-Supply donning the sides of player helmets.

Coyotes helmets had previously been left blank at home with no official helmet sponsor. With Goodwill on board, the brand will appear on both sides of their traditional black helmet at home. Mountain America Credit Union previously held the spot in 2021-22, the first year that allowed for NHL helmet sponsorships.

The Coyotes recently began play at Mullett Arena, home of the Arizona State University hockey team, for its first NHL home game last week. The building seats 5,000 fans, making it the league’s smallest venue. The plan is to build a permanent arena in Tempe, but details have yet to be finalized with multiple civic hurdles still to clear.
