Czech Hockey and the Czech Olympic Committee revealed the jerseys that their men’s and women’s teams will wear at the Milano-Cortina Olympics on Tuesday, offering a modernized spin on a classic look for the country’s hockey teams.

The primary jersey features a red base and blue shoulders, with textured patterns and white trim, while the secondary jersey features textured red shoulders and a white base with blue trim. Both jerseys also prominently feature the country’s coat of arms,  which represents the three historical regions of the Czech lands.

“The Olympic Games are ahead of us, which unite not only athletes, but also entire nations,” Jiří Šlégr, general manager of the Czech men’s national team said in a press release. “That is why I am very happy that our hockey players will represent us in jerseys with the national emblem, a symbol of pride. I believe that they will also bring us a lot of luck.”

Fans will not be able to buy an authentic jersey from Czech Hockey, but the federation will make fan replicas available.

Czechia’s men’s team is looking for its first Olympic medal since the Olympics were last in Italy, when they won bronze at Torino 2006. Their only other Olympic medal was gold at Nagano 1998, the first time NHL players were allowed to compete at the Games–– and NHL players return for the first time in 12 years at Milano-Cortina 2026.

They also came close to the podium at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics, but fell to Canada in the bronze medal game.

In June, they named the first six players to the roster, including forwards David Pastrnak, Martin Necas, Pavel Zacha and Ondrej Palat; defenseman Radko Gudas; and goaltender Lukas Dostal.

The women’s side are looking for their first Olympic medal after enjoying success with two bronze medals and two fourth-place finishes at the IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship since the Beijing 2022 games.

On the men’s side, Czechia will face Canada, Switzerland and France in Group A, while the women’s Group A features Canada, USA, Switzerland, and Finland, with every team advancing to the quarterfinals.

Other nations that have released their Olympic jerseys include Canada, Slovakia, Finland, Germany and France.

The Olympic hockey tournaments will both be played in Milan, starting Feb. 11 and culminating in the women’s gold medal final on Feb. 19 and the men’s gold medal game on Feb. 22.
