Daily Faceoff DFS Value Plays – January 22nd
We’ve got a great slate tonight, with several players at each position jumping out as great value options who are either in critical roles for their team or providing great production.
This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt defencemen options.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
Trevor Moore (W, LAK) – vs. SJS – (DK-$6,000 / FD -$7,000)
DFO Projection: DK-12.9 / FD-16.6
There’s no reason not to be playing Trevor Moore and LAK2 tonight. He leads the charge as Daily Faceoff’s top value play tonight, as the Kings take on the San Jose Sharks. Moore has had excellent shot and goal volume this season, and has a great matchup on this slate.
Pavel Dorofeyev (W, VGK) – vs. NJ – ($3,700 / $4,800)
DFO Projection: DK-7.8 / FD-10
Welcome to the value plays article, Pavel. He’s appeared in 26 games for the Vegas Golden Knights this season, averaging 7.4 DKFPPG in them, and has continued to produce. Much like Moore, Dorofeyev has had excellent shot and goal volume and has an individual expected goal-per-hour rate above his actual goal-per-hour rate, suggesting he has more room to find twine. He’ll have a great matchup tonight.
Jordan Spence (D, LAK) – vs. SJS – ($2,500 / $3,600)
DFO Projection: DK-5.2 / FD-6.8
Spence has been a great depth piece this season, and has had great shot volume playing on the third pairing. He sees lots of ice time with LAK2, meaning he’s a great stackable option with them.
Niko Mikkola (D, VGK) – @ NSH – ($3,100 / $3,800)
DFO Projection: DK-5.9 / FD-7.5
Mikkola has had good shot and block volume this season, and is popping as one of the top value plays among defensemen, despite projecting for less one percent ownership.
