Daily Faceoff Live: Halfway point wish list for the Western Conference

On the latest episode of Daily Faceoff Live, Tyler Yaremchuk and Mike McKenna discussed their wish list for the second half of the season, starting with the Western Conference.
Tyler Yaremchuk: It’s basically the halfway point of the season and this is what we would like to see from the second half in the Western Conference.
In the Western Conference, what is something you would like to see come to fruition over the last 41 games?
Mike McKenna: I kinda like chaos in terms of the entertainment value and I would love to see the Vancouver Canucks go on an absolute heater Tyler. And I think part of this is just because Bruce Boudreau has been maligned in Vancouver for a lot of the season and the team has played better recently. They’ve kind of been middling along but the awful start to the year is what still seems to stick with people’s minds.
This isn’t an absolutely atrocious team in Vancouver, they’re 26th overall but they’re very mid. I wonder if Thatcher Demko comes back and catches fire. Or what if this club suddenly starts to play like they did last year under Bruce for the second half of the season?
And what really happens if Vancouver sells off all of their pieces? What if they get rid of Horvat, Boeser, Myers, Garland, Schenn who knows, and they still end up winning? What do you do with Boudreau, who’s on an expiring contract, he’s fighting for his job too. So this is a team for me that can go for Connor Bedard but they’re far away from it right now because like I say they’re 26th overall. Slim chances of them being able to get the first overall draft pick.
But if they sell those pieces and they keep winning, what do you do? And I love that, because to me it’s intriguing and would just spice up the West, Tyler.
