Panthers beat Blackhawks 4-0; Huberdeau makes history
The Chicago Blackhawks were shut out for the seventh time this season as Sergei Bobrovsky (G) made 37 saves to record his third shutout. Bobrovsky improved to 7-0-0 in the month of March. Jonathan Huberdeau (LW) recorded his 71st assist of the season, setting a new NHL record for most assists in a season by a left-winger. Aleksander Barkov (C) had two goals for the Panthers to give him 31 on the season, the second time he has reached the 30-goal plateau in his nine-year career. Barkov has 19 points (6G / 13A) in his last 13 games.

Andersen shuts out Canadiens in 4-0 win
Frederik Andersen (G) stopped all 32 shots he faced for the Carolina Hurricanes to record his fourth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens have now lost nine of their last 12 (3-5-4) after having won seven of their first 11 (7-4-0) under new head coach, Martin St. Louis. Sebastian Aho (C) recorded two points (1G / 1A) for the Hurricanes and extended his point streak to six games (4G / 3A / 7PTS). Teuvo Teravainen (LW, RW) had two points (1G / 1A) as well and also extended his point streak to six games (1G / 8A / 9PTS).
Leafs win third straight; Matthews hits 50
William Nylander (LW, RW) led the way for the Toronto Maple Leafs with three points (2G / 1A) in a 7-3 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. Mitch Marner (RW) also had three points (0G / 3A) and has 34 points (11G / 23A) in his last 18 games while being held pointless only twice in that stretch. Auston Matthews (C) scored an empty-net goal as part of his two points on the night (1G / 1A) to become the first player to hit 50 goals this season, the first time he has achieved the feat in his career. Matthews is the fastest active player to reach 50 goals in a season.

Eric Comrie (G) had won five consecutive games and posted a .927 SV% but had his worst performance of the season on Thursday, allowing six goals on 37 shots.
Bruins steamroll Devils
The Boston Bruins opened the scoring 57 seconds into the game on a goal by Matt Grzlecyk (D) and never looked back on route to a dominating 8-1 win over the New Jersey Devils. Brad Marchand (LW) had two goals for the Bruins to give him 30 goals for the fifth time in his career. David Pastrnak (RW) had three assists in the victory to give him 10 points (5G / 5A) during a current four-game point streak. After having lost four of his last five games (1-3-1), Linus Ullmark (G) made 25 of 26 saves to win his fourth consecutive start (4-0-0). Jack Hughes (C, LW) scored the lone goal for the Devils to extend his point streak to five games (6G / 2A / 8PTS).
Stars move back into a playoff spot
Jamie Benn (C, LW) scored the overtime winner for the Dallas Stars to give them a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks and move them back into the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. The Ducks have now lost 11 consecutive games (0-8-3).

Evgeni Malkin (C) scored two points (1G / 1A) for the Pittsburgh Penguins, including the overtime game-winner, to give them a 4-3 win and hand the Minnesota Wild their first loss in eight games (7-0-1). Malkin extended his point streak to six games and has 11 points (7G / 4A) in that span.

Rickard Rakell (LW, RW) scored two goals and now has five points (3G / 2A) in six games as a Penguin. Rookie Matt Boldy (LW, RW) had two assists in the loss for the Wild to give him three points (0G / 3A) in his last two games after being held pointless in his previous six.
Avalanche top Sharks 4-2
Nathan MacKinnon (C) surprisingly returned to the lineup for the Colorado Avalanche after missing their last game with what was called a “high-concern” injury. He was held pointless in his return and had two shots on goal in 22:38 time on ice. Nazem Kadri (C) had two assists and has 10 points (4G / 6A) in his last seven games. Pavel Francouz (G) made 25 saves on 27 shots in the victory and recorded only his second quality start in his last seven outings (5-1-1).
Kings defeat Flames 3-2 (SO)
A night after losing in a shootout to the Edmonton Oilers, the Los Angeles Kings tried again on Thursday and were successful in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Calgary Flames. Viktor Arvidsson (LW, RW) scored for the Kings with under five minutes remaining to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Cal Petersen (G) rebounded after allowing six goals in his previous game and made 26 saves on 28 shots in the victory. The Flames have now lost consecutive games for the first time since early January, a span of 35 games (23-9-3).
