Oettinger returns to win column in Philadelphia

Jake Oettinger stopped 37 of 38 shots (.974 SV%) to move to 6-2-0, picking up his first win since October 27th as Dallas topped Philadelphia 5-1. Matej Blumel kicked off the scoring with his first career NHL goal, while Esa Lindell (2) and Joe Pavelski (8) each had a goal and two assists in the winning effort. Jason Robertson picked up his team-leading 10th goal of the year along with an assist as the winger is now tied for third in the NHL in scoring with 23 points (10G/13A) in 15 games. Felix Sandstrom struggled in Philadelphia’s crease, allowing five goals on 31 shots (.839 SV%) as the Flyers’ lost their third straight while being outscored 14-to-4.

Sharks from behind for shootout win

James Reimer stood on his head, stopping 28 of 30 shots (.933 SV%) as he won his second straight game to move to 4-5-2 as San Jose took down Minnesota 3-2 in a shootout. The Sharks were held scoreless until the last 10 minutes when Steven Lorentz (2) and Nico Sturm (6) each potted late goals to tie the game while Marc-Edouard Vlasic tripled his point totals on the season by picking two assists on the night. Erik Karlsson increased his point total to 22 (10G / 12A) with an assist in the contest. Filip Gustavsson played great but took the hard-luck loss as he moved to 1-3-1 after allowing two goals on 37 shots (.946 SV%). Frederick Gaudreau (2) kicked off the scoring for the Wild, and Connor Dewar picked up his first of the season off a short-handed goal early in the third period.

Ullmark picks up NHL-leading 11th win as Bruins dismantle Canucks

Linus Ullmark continued his Vezina Trophy-worthy season, stopping 29 of 31 shots (.935 SV%) to move to 11-1-0 as Boston easily handled Vancouver 5-2 at home. The Bruins spread out their scoring in the win as Connor Clifton (2), Patrice Bergeron (8), Pavel Zacha (3), Brad Marchand (5) and Tomas Nosek (1) each had goals. Clifton finished as the only skater with multi-points as he also grabbed an assist. Thatcher Demko’s nightmarish season continued moving to 1-8-2 after allowing four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%) as he now has only three games where he’s had a save percentage better than .900 SV%. J.T Miller picked Vancouvers’ first goal of the game off a powerplay marker (9) while finishing the game as the forward leader in hits (4) and blocked shots (2).

Fox shines again as Rangers take down Coyotes

Adam Fox continued his hot run of form by picking up a goal (5) and an assist to extend his current point streak to six games (3G/6A) as New York beat Arizona 4-1 at home.

Fox now sits second among all NHL defensemen with 19 points (5G/14A) through his first 17 games. Igor Shesterkin improved to an impressive 8-2-2 after stopping 31 of 32 shots (.969 SV%) for his second win in a row, while Barclay Goodrow (4), Chris Kreider (7) and Ryan Carpenter (1)had the other goals for the Rangers. Connor Ingram lost for a third straight contest after allowing four goals on 27 shots (.952 SV%) to move to 1-4-0 on the season. Clayton Keller scored the lone Coyote goal (6) to increase his team lead in points to 17 points (6G/11A) in 15 games.

Sergachev, Lightning get to Kuemper early and double up Capitals

Andrei Vasilevsky stopped 19 of 22 shots (.864 SV%) to pick up his first victory in four starts (5-5-1) as Tampa Bay doubled up Washington 6-3. Mikhail Sergachev had an outstanding first period picking up two goals (3,4) and two assists in the first 20 minutes of play to bring his season totals to 14 points (4G/10A) in 15 games. Nick Perbix continued a four-game point streak as he picked up a goal (3) and an assist (3) while being a team-high plus-3 rating. Nikita Kucherov also picked up a goal (7) and an assist as he now ranks fourth in the NHL in points with 23 points (7G/16A) in 15 games. Darcy Kuemper had the worst game of his 11-year-career as he allowed four goals on nine shots (.556 SV%) before being chased in the first period and moving to 5-7-1 on the season. Charlie Lindgren did an admirable job in relief, stopping 24 of 25 shots (.960 SV%), while Lars Eller (3), Conor Sheary (6) and Garnet Hathaway (2) each scored in the losing effort.

Scheifele lifts Jets over Kraken in overtime

Mark Scheifele scored his second goal of the night (9,10) just a minute into overtime to push Winnipeg over Seattle 3-2 on the road and into first place in the Pacific division.

David Rittich picked up his second win of the season (2-1-0) with a 19-save (.905 SV%) winning effort as Winnipeg picked up its fourth victory in five games. Blake Wheeler scored the other Jets’ goal (4), tying the game with six seconds left. Martin Jones allowed three goals on 30 shots (.900 SV%) as he moved to 7-4-2 after the loss. Jordan Eberle (4) and Brandon Tanev (4) each scored for the Kraken, with Eberle leading all skaters on both sides with six SOG.
