This value sheet includes salaries, and projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, as well as three punt options for defensemen. These largely predicate around their ability to produce peripheral points by taking shots, and blocking them. These players are always live for the bonus’ on DraftKings.

These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.

FULL DFO Daily Projections

Gabriel Vilardi (W, WPG) – vs. SJS – (DK-$5,000 / FD $6,100)
DFO Projection:
DK-11.1 / FD-14.7

This might be one of my favourite plays of the year. Gabriel Vilardi is looking like a steal on both sites, landing right at the top of both sites in terms of points per $1,000, as well as straight value. He and his linemates on the Jets’ second line have a perfect matchup score on DailyFaceoff’s charts, and looks like an excellent play tonight. Not only that, but he is projecting for half the ownership of any of the Jets’ top-line players.

Dylan Guenther (W, ARI) – vs. MIN – ($4,100 / $4,800)
DFO Projection: DK-7.9 / FD-10.4

There’s not much in the way of cheap forwards that are popping as value plays, but Dylan Guenther is looking like a great option tonight. Guenther, while playing on the Arizona Coyotes’ third-line, has great shot volume and is generating lots of scoring chances. He’s also capitalizing on them, with 1.1 goals per hour and 2.5 points per hour over his last 25 games.

Nate Schmidt (D, WPG) @ MIN ($2,700 / $4,000)
DFO Projection: DK-6.7 / FD-8.7

Nate Schmidt is looking like a solid play on both sites, but pops more on DraftKings for tonight’s slate. He’s projected to 2.5x his salary on DraftKings, as the strongest point per $1,000 play among all defensemen. He’s projecting for .4 percent ownership, which is far too low considering provides solid shot and block volume.

Jonas Brodin (D, MIN) @ ARI ($5,300 / $5,300)
DFO Projection: DK-10.5 / FD-13.6

We’ve been on the Brock Faber train here this season, as the rookie rearguard has played big minutes, and produced some great fantasy results. While I’m most certainly not saying we should fade him on a slate against the Arizona Coyotes, Jonas Brodin is popping as a stronger value play on this slate. Brodin projects for virtually the same amount of fantasy points as Faber on this slate, and has 1.8 points per hour over his last 25 games, .1 less than Faber. On top of that, Brodin has also brought higher shot volume, and block volume over the last 25 games.

Top Punt Defensemen

  1. Marc-Edouard Vlasic, SJS ($3,700/$4,300): DK-8.9 / FD-11.0
  2. Zach Bogosian, MIN ($2,900/ $3,700): DK-5.7 / FD-7.3
  3. Marcus Pettersson, PIT ($3,400/$4,400): DK-7.4 / FD-9.8
