Daily Faceoff NHL DFS Value Plays – February 5th

We’re back with a little two-game slate to return to the swing of things featuring the Toronto Maple Leafs hosting the New York Islanders, and the Colorado Avalanche visiting the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
On a night where ownership is likely to be spread out, let’s find some value.
This value sheet includes salaries, and projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, as well as three punt options for defensemen.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
FULL DFO Daily Projections
Logan O’Connor (W, COL) – @ NYR – (DK-$3,400 / FD $4,100)
DFO Projection: DK-7.1 / FD-9.2
O’Connor and COL2 have a tough matchup tonight against the Rangers, but they rank as the second-best offensive line on the slate, trailing only NYI1. O’Connor has brought forth strong scoring over his last 25 games, scoring 2.6 points per hour, and has generated solid shot volume. He’ll come in low owned.
Nicholas Robertson (W, TOR) – vs NYI – ($3,100 / $4,200)
DFO Projection: DK-6.2 / FD-8.0
Robertson and his linemates on the Leafs’ third line have a great matchup tonight against the New York Islanders and have scored at a 3.0 GF/60 rate this season. On a night where we have to dig a bit to find some value, a goal could go a long way.
Timothy Liljegren (D, TOR) – vs NYI– ($3,400 / $4,100)
DFO Projection: DK-7.4 / FD-9.6
Liljegren and Robertson will serve as a solid mini-stack tonight, and Liljegren has been a strong value player through the season. He blocks a ton of shots, and finds his way onto the score sheet now and then. He looks like a great play tonight.
Josh Manson (D, COL) – @ NYR – ($3,700 / $4,400)
DFO Projection: DK-7.2 / FD-93
Surprisingly, Manson has found some new levels of production this season, and in his last 25 games, has scored 0.7 goals per hour. That’s the second-highest rate among regular defencemen on this slate, and he has solid enough shot volume, too.
Top Punt Defencemen
- Zac Jones, NYR ($2,500/ $3,500): DK-5.0 / FD-6.5
- Ryan Pulock, NYI ($4,500/$3,500): DK-6.6 / FD-8.2
- Erik Gustafsson, NYR ($3,000/$4,000): DK-5.5 / FD-7.2
