Fresh off a showdown slate, we’re back with a riveting… checks notes …two-game slate.

This one, however, should be a bit more exciting with some interesting matchups between the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks. This slate will live and die by STL1, who are projected to have nearly double the ownership of anyone else on this slate.

But on these small slates, it’s best to be prepared for anything to happen.

Let’s find some value.

This value sheet includes salaries, and projections for DraftKings and FanDuel,.

These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.

FULL DFO Daily Projections

Kent Johnson (W, CBJ) – @ STL – (DK-$3,000 / FD $4,200)
DFO Projection:
DK-6.2 / FD-8.1

Kent Johnson and the Blue Jackets’ second line have the highest matchup score on the slate, clocking it at a clean 100, and look like an excellent play. He, alongside Dmitri Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko are projecting for around just 10 percent ownership, but tie SEA1 for the highest GF/60 rate of any line on the slate at 3.7. Johnson projects as the best value of the three, and thanks to some favourable salaries, will offer a great chance to get different.

Tomas Tatar (W, SEA) – @ SJS – ($4,000 / $4,000)
DFO Projection: DK-7 / FD-9.2

I’m shocked that Tatar is projecting for around 10 percent ownership, because he and SEA1 have been great as of late. His individual scoring chance per hour rate of 10.6 over his last 25 games are third highest among any forward on this slate.

Shakir Mukhamadullin (D, SJS) vs SEA ($3,000 / N/A)
DFO Projection: DK-8.5 / FD-N/A

Mukhamadullin is the top value defenceman on the DraftKings slate tonight, projecting for a big night on the Sharks’ top pair. In his NHL debut days ago against the Buffalo Sabres, he took three shots on goal and blocked two, and he’ll have the chance to do so again tonight.

Jake Bean (D, CBJ) @ STL ($3,100 / $3,600)
DFO Projection: DK-6.1 / FD-7.6

Bean looks like a great value play, projecting for next to no ownership tonight. He has strong shot and block volume, and I’m a bit surprised more people aren’t on him.
