Daily Faceoff NHL DFS Value Plays – March 1st
This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt options for defensemen. These largely predicate around their ability to produce peripheral points by taking shots, and blocking them. These players are always live for the bonus’ on DraftKings.
A new addition is the “honourable mention forwards,” taking a look at some low-owned plays that expectations should be tempered with. Still, they bring some level of value in the form of a strong projection tonight, or good past production against their opponents.
These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.
FULL DFO Daily Projections
Nico Hischier (C, NJD) – @ ANA – (DK-$7,300 / FD $7,600)
DFO Projection: DK-14.4 / FD-19.4
Nico Hischier and the New Jersey Devils have a great matchup tonight against the Anaheim Ducks, and Hischier looks like a tremendous play. Projecting to have among the most points, he’s scored 1.6 goals per hour and 3.3 points per hour over his last 25 games.
Vladimir Tarasenko (W, OTT) – vs. ARI – ($4,800 / $5,100)
DFO Projection: DK-9.4 / FD-12.4
Another player in an excellent spot is Vladimir Tarasenko, who’s been scoring at a great clip ahead of a potential trade over the next week. He and his linemates on OTT1 look to be a great leverage play.
Olen Zellweger (D, ANA) – vs NJD – ($2,500 / N/A)
DFO Projection: DK-5.9 / FD–
Drawing into the lineup with Cam Fowler injured, Zellweger is a great play on DraftKings, but unfortunatley isn’t in the FanDuel player pool. He’s had great shot volume and some nice point production in his brief NHL appearances, and will draw in on the Ducks’ top power play unit. At his price, this is a smash spot tonight.
Nick Seeler (D, PHI) – @ WSH – ($4,700 / $4,200)
DFO Projection: DK-8.9 / FD-10.8
You may not be able to play Zellweger on FanDuel, but you sure can play Nicky Nails. And boy, does he look like a great one. Daily Faceoff projects him for 3.9 blocked shots tonight, and has provided some good shot volume as of late, too.
