This value sheet includes salaries, projections for DraftKings and FanDuel, and three punt options for defensemen. These largely predicate around their ability to produce peripheral points by taking shots, and blocking them. These players are always live for the bonus’ on DraftKings.

A new addition is the “honourable mention forwards,” taking a look at some low-owned plays that expectations should be tempered with. Still, they bring some level of value in the form of a strong projection tonight, or good past production against their opponents.

These projections don’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen. One game sample has too much randomness to pin down exact predictions. Instead, the projections represent a player’s average performance on average if that matchup was played repeatedly. There is a wide range of possible outcomes, and the projections represent each player’s average of those possibilities.

FULL DFO Daily Projections

Brett Leason (W, ANA) – vs. OTT – (DK-$2,900 / FD $3,700)
DFO Projection:
DK-7.4 / FD-9.3

What a weird slate today with a few trades happened involving teams playing tonight.

Opportunity is everything in Daily Fantasy Sports, and Leason has exactly that with Daily Faceoff projecting him to skate on the Ducks’ top line. He’ll have a chance to make some noise at a near-minimum price on both sites at very low ownership, and brings with him some decent shot volume and point production.

Nathan MacKinnon (C, COL) – vs. DET – ($10,300 / $10,300)
DFO Projection: DK-21.4 / FD-28.2

It doesn’t need to be said much, but just play Nathan MacKinnon. Despite his huge price tag, he’s popping at Daily Faceoff as far and away the top value play on tonight’s slate, yet is eighth among forwards in ownership.

Devon Toews (D, COL) vs. DET ($4,500 / $6,000)
DFO Projection: DK-9.2 / FD-11.9

Toews feels like one of those players whose a better real life hockey player than a good DFS play, but he’s popping on Daily Faceoff’s charts tonight. He’s on a nice run scoring .5 goals per hour and 1.5 points per hour over his last 25 games, while getting 5.3 shots per hour off. He can be played with MacKinnon, and looks like a solid addition to any lineup tonight.

Jake McCabe (D, TOR) vs BUF ($3,400 / $4,500)
DFO Projection: DK-7.0 / FD-9.2

McCabe is also on a nice run as of late, chipping in some offence and continuing to block a lot of shots. He looks to be a solid, very low owned play tonight, and will be live for the block bonus.

  3. Zach Parise (W, COL) ($3,600/$4,600): DK-7.9 / FD-10.2
