Daily Fantasy GPP Stacks: 01-25-18

The NHL is as busy as it gets tonight, with 15 games and everyone but the Kings in action. A slate this big can seem overwhelming to play in DFS, so here’s a few ideas to help get you started.
High-Priced
Artemi Panarin ($6,300)-Pierre-Luc Dubois ($5,100)-Josh Anderson ($5,700)
You’re normally playing with chalk when you stack against the Coyotes, but with all the star-studded names in play tonight this relatively cheap stack should go under the radar. The Blue Jackets first line boasts an impressive 59.89 CF% on the season, with a 56.69 HDCF% to boot. It’s unclear which of the Coyotes’ lines will be tasked with handling Panarin and company, but at even strength, this line outclasses Arizona’s entire roster.
Ordinarily, with their league-worst 13% powerplay percentage, even strength production is about all you can rely on from the Blue Jackets. Luckily, tonight they get to go up against the sub-par penalty killing units of the Coyotes. Seth Jones has been on absolute tear lately, racking up 23 shots and seven points in his last six games. If you can fit him into your budget, he makes for a great addition to this stack.
Rickard Rakell ($6,400)-Ryan Getzlaf ($6,700)-Ondrej Kase ($4,600)
The Ducks play host to the Jets tonight who are in the midst of doing some line shuffling, as Paul Maurice continues to look for answers in the absence of Mark Scheifele. After a failed stint with Brian Little on the top line, Maurice is now trying his luck at Patrik Laine in the top spot alongside Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor. While the line possesses some obvious offensive talent, it is a serious defensive liability. The trio has just a 45.81 CF% together on the season, as well as a troubling 33.33 HDCF%.
Expected to draw this matchup tonight will be the Ducks top line, who have looked great since Kase joined them. The three of them rock a 57.14 CF% together and a 64.71 HDCF%, giving them a huge advantage at even strength over the Jets top line. Their ability to hold onto the puck and sustain meaningful possession should provide them with plenty of opportunities to produce tonight. If you want to make it a full stack, Cam Fowler ($4,800) is the best play.
Value Stack
Zemgus Girgensons ($3,200)-Jack Eichel ($6,800)-Kyle Okposo ($5,200)
Jack Eichel has been on an absolute tear as of late, and this is more of a recommendation to play him rather than the full stack. However, if you need to free up some space to splurge on the rest of your lineup, there is potentially some serious value to be had here. Eichel has been on as hot of a streak as we’ve seen in DFS this year, averaging an absurd 7.6 DraftKings points over his last six games.
The Sabres are in Vancouver tonight, but despite having the last change, Travis Green is not one to hard match lines. This means you can expect Eichel and his tagalongs to be matched up against both the Canucks first and second line throughout the night. With their lines set the way they are right now, there’s nothing in the top six that poses a serious threat to Buffalo 1’s production tonight. Until Green gets around to reuniting Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser, the Canucks will make for a fine target to stack against. Obviously Zemgus Girgensons and Kyle Okposo are nothing to write home about in their own regards, but in this matchup they’re almost certain to get some points just from skating in Eichel’s general vicinity. If all goes well playing the full stack can bite into some of Eichel’s ownership, and leave you a lot of cash to spend elsewhere in your lineup. I normally advise against making full stacks out of your value plays, but if you insist, Rasmus Ristolainen ($4,900) is your best bet.
