Daily Fantasy Notebook (11/07)

Whether you spend your entire day at work or school, it can be difficult to stay on top of all NHL news. That’s why I have created the Daily Fantasy Notebook, so you can catch up on everything you might have missed throughout the day.

The notebook will be released everyday after teams wrap up their morning skate. It will include a number of things: Injury updates, prominent line changes, goalie rankings and DFS value picks.

While this is obviously more geared towards daily fantasy hockey, it can be just as useful for season-long players as well. Injuries are obviously key, but important line changes could be viewed as as potential waiver wire pickups and the goalie rankings can help you make the tough starting goalie decisions you face on large slates.

Key Injuries

– Vladimir Tarasenko (upper-body) will be in the lineup in New Jersey.
– Jaromir Jagr (lower-body) will return to the Flames lineup.
– Cam Atkinson (lower-body) was activated from IR and is expected to play.
– Justin Schultz (concussion) will be a game-time decision.
– Brett Pesce (concussion) will not play vs. the Panthers
– Charles Hudon (upper-body) will be a game-time decision.
– Rasmus Ristolainen (upper-body) will not play vs. Washington.

Line Changes

Buffalo Sabres (vs. WSH)

– Nick Baptiste will draw in for his season debut, replace Matt Moulson in the lineup

– Marco Scandella moved to the top power-play unit on practice

– Viktor Antipin dropped to the second unit

Washington Capitals (@ BUF)

– No morning skate, but no changes are expected from last night’s overtime win

New York Islanders (vs. EDM)

– No changes expected; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Edmonton Oilers (@ NYI)

– Slepyshev will replace Kailer Yamamoto on the second line with Yamamoto being sent to the WHL on Monday

Carolina Hurricanes (vs. FLA)

– Teuvo Teravainen will play on the top-line with Jordan Staal and Sebastian Aho

– Elias Lindholm moves to a line with Derek Ryan and Jeff Skinner

– Victor Rask centres Justin Williams and Brock McGinn

– Noah Hanifin was moved to the top power-play unit; moving Justin Fault to the second unit.

Florida Panthers (@ CAR)

– Nick Bjugstad and Radim Vrbata swapped spot; Bjugstad with Vincent Trocheck and Connor Brickley; Vrbata with Jared McCann and Jamie McGinn

Columbus Blue Jackets (vs. NSH)

– Atkinson draws into the lineup; Zac Dalpe a likely scratch but there’s no word on lines because they did not hold a morning skate

Nashville Predators (@ CBJ)

– No changes expected because Kyle Turris is not available to play

New Jersey Devils (vs. STL)

– No changes expected

St. Louis Blues (@ NJD)

– No changes expected

Pittsburgh Penguins (vs. ARI)

– No changes expected

Arizona Coyotes (@ PIT)

– No changes expected

Montreal Canadiens (vs. VGK)

– No changes expected

Vegas Golden Knights (@ MTL)

– No changes expected; Will Carrier could draw back in for Brendan Leipsic but that’s unclear.

Calgary Flames (vs. VAN)

– Jagr will play on the third line with Mark Jankowski and Sam Bennett
– That moves Curtis Lazar to the fourth line and Matt Stajan to the press box

Vancouver Canucks (@ CGY)

– Did not hold a morning skate because of their back-to-back, but Reid Boucher was recalled from Utica (AHL), suggesting that someone is banged up

Anaheim Ducks (vs. LAK)

– Derek Grant will play on the first line with Rickard Rakell and Corey Perry
– Chris Wagner will play on the second line with Jakob Silfverberg and Andrew Cogliano
– Ondrej Kase will drop to the third line with Antoine Vermette and Nick Ritchie
– Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen moved to the top PP-unit with Brandon Montour dropping to the second pair
