Daily Fantasy Stacking: 02-03-18

With 10 games on the night slate there’s plenty of DFS contests to choose from. Here are some stacks to help you get started.
High-Priced
Filip Forsberg ($6,500)-Ryan Johansen ($5,300)-Viktor Arvidsson ($6,400)
With Filip Forsberg healthy and back in the lineup after nearly a month off, the Predators finally gave DFS players what they wanted and put the band back together. When they opt for a more balanced attack and spread these guys out across the lineup, it makes it hard to stack any one line from Nashville. But as we saw earlier in the season, when the Preds play their top three forwards together it makes for one of the more tantalizing stacks in DFS. The trio was finally reunited on Thursday night and paid immediate dividends, combining for six points en route to a 5-0 victory over the Kings.
Tonight they’re facing a much more inept defensive team in the Rangers, who have given up the third most shots in the league to this point. You can expect Nashville 1 to match up against the Jimmy Vesey-Mika Zibanejad-Rick Nash line of the Rangers. While this line certainly possesses some offensive flare, none of them are what you would consider strong two-way forwards. The Preds top line boasts a 58.54 CF% at 5v5 this season. Having the Zibanejad line spend nearly 60% of their ice-time in their own end has potentially-disastrous implications for the Rangers. Get in on the fun and play Nashville 1 before they’re inevitably split up again. If you want to make it a full stack, I’d recommend P.K. Subban ($5,700).
Medium-Priced
Mathieu Perreault ($5,200)-Bryan Little ($4,700)-Nikolaj Ehlers ($6,000)
The Jets play host to the Avalanche tonight, one of the most top-heavy teams in the league. Luckily for the second line of the Jets, Paul Maurice opts to match best-on-best, so you can expect the Blake Wheeler line to see most of the ice-time against Colorado 1 tonight. Winnipeg 2 will be left to handle the scraps of the Avs’ top nine, which has looked even rougher than usual since Alexander Kerfoot was moved to the top line in the absence of Nathan Mackinnon.
The Ehlers-Little-Perreault combination has been one of the most effective lines Paul Maurice has put together this year. The trio has posted a 61.24 CF% and a 69.23 GF% together at 5v5 this season. So long as they are able to avoid the top line, there’s no reason why Winnipeg 2 shouldn’t see a substantial amount of offensive zone time tonight. If you’re looking for a full stack, I’d suggest Tyler Myers ($4,300). He’s a much cheaper option than Dustin Byfuglien ($5,400) and currently plays on the second powerplay unit with all three members of Winnipeg’s second line.
Value Stack
Patrick Marleau ($4,700)-Nazem Kadri ($4,900)-Mitch Marner ($5,300)
The Leafs second line was revitalized when Mike Babcock finally dropped Leo Komorov from the top six and put Marner in his place. In the four games they’ve played together, Marleau, Kadri, and Marner have posted a 59.73 CF% at 5v5 and scored four times without surrendering a goal against.
Tonight they travel to Boston, where the Bruins are expected to match their top line, still without Brad Marchand, against the Auston Matthews line. Marchand’s suspension has had a trickle-down effect on the rest of the Bruins’ top nine, leaving their depleted second and third lines to handle the red-hot Toronto 2 tonight. You can expect them to pile on the shots once again tonight, meaning it shouldn’t take more than a single line goal to get extraordinary value out of this stack. If you want to make it a full stack, Jake Gardiner ($4,900) has been on fire of late, although he should see a dip in ice-time with Morgan Reilly ($5,500) making his return to the lineup.
