Daily Fantasy Stacking: 03-26-18

The second last week of the regular season kicks off tonight with a nine-game slate. To help get you started on your lineup here are my top two high-priced stacks of the night. Good luck!

Evgeny Dadonov ($7,000)-Aleksander Barkov ($7,700)-Nick Bjugstad ($6,000)

The Panthers’ top line has quietly been one of the most productive units in the league this season. Led by Barkov, Florida 1 boasts a 56.13 CF% at 5v5 this season and are producing nearly 40 scoring chances per 60. Their dominance of possession has translated into a 63.41 GF%, and it’s made them one of the more consistent stacks in DFS this season.

Their sky-high price tonight reflects their ceiling in a matchup against the Islanders, who proudly surrender more goals (3.6 GA/GP) than any other team in the league. Islanders head coach Doug Weight doesn’t opt to match beyond top-six vs top-six at home, meaning Florida 1 will see a mix of the Islanders’ top two lines tonight. Both NYI 1 and 2 surrender scoring chances at rates that are well above-average, especially at home.

The mediocre Chris Gibson is expected to get the nod tonight. In case you forgot, the Islanders also have the worst penalty kill in the league. So, you’ve got the 5v5, goaltending, and powerplay matchups all tilting in Florida 1’s favour tonight. If you can save enough money elsewhere in your lineup, Keith Yandle ($5,900) is the ideal addition to this stack.

Evander Kane ($7,100)-Joe Pavelski ($6,400)-Timo Meier ($4,000)

Kane has been on fire since arriving in San Jose, racking up seven goals, five assists, and 53 shots on goal in the 12 games he’s played with his new team. Much of his production can be contributed to the immediate chemistry he’s formed with Pavelski. Together the two are posting elite production rates at 5v5, with a 57.89 CF% and 39 scoring chances per 60 to show for it.

Meier is expected to skate alongside them tonight when the Sharks take on the Blackhawks. He hasn’t seen any time with the top line since Kane’s acquisition, but he did perform admirably on Pavelski’s wing earlier in the season. They should be matched up against Chicago’s top line tonight, whose defensive struggles are amplified by the absence of Jonathan Toews (upper-body).

Anton Forsberg and his .907 SV% are expected to get the start for Chicago, lending even more credence to a San Jose 1 build. Chicago also sports a bottom-ten penalty kill at just 79.6%, so a powerplay stack featuring Brent Burns ($7,200) and/or Logan Couture ($6,000) is certainly in play.
