The Avalanche will be without Cale Makar tonight, but they proved they can manage without him in late January, going 4-0 in four games without their superstar defenseman. The model thinks the market overreacted to Makar’s injury and sees value in Colorado +127.

Vancouver Canucks (@ NYI) ML +193
The Canucks have played pretty well since Rick Tocchet took over as head coach. While they’ve gone 2-2-1, two of the three losses have come by one goal. If you look at the numbers (admittedly a small sample size) they are third in the NHL in xGA/60 (2.39) and seventh in xGF% (54.38) in the last two weeks. They may have a little extra motivation tonight as well, facing their former teammate Bo Horvat. They are huge +193 underdogs, but the model sees them at +140.
