Welcome to our Betting Guide brought to you by NHL Betting site Betway!

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2022-23 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

NHL MODEL PICKS

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via Betway), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on Betway odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets 💰

  • 0.5 Unit Bet – PHI ML +199

I’m a little concerned about the Flyers tonight; they are looking to be sellers at the deadline, and Kevin Hayes and James van Riemsdyk skated on the fourth line this morning. Concerned there could be some last-minute news from the Flyers, so let’s play it safe at +199.

  • 1.0 Unit Bet – EDM ML +100

This one was better this morning when Edmonton was +110 but even at +100 the model sees value in the Oilers. Adding Mattias Ekholm on the backend should certainly help them slow down the Maple Leafs tonight. Hopefully, Stuart Skinner will start.

  • 0.5 Unit Bet – ARI ML +339

After trading Gostisbehere to the Hurricanes, this one looks dicey as well. But the Stars have lost six of their last seven, so we’ll take a small chance on the Coyotes as massive dogs.

  • 2.0 Unit Bet – COL ML -108

The Avalanche are on a tear right now; they’ve won six in a row and have scored at least four goals in four of those games, and have only given up more than two once. The market reacted to Justus Annunen starting, but he’s perfectly capable of guiding the Avalanche to a win tonight. I’d be less confident if Timo Meier was playing, but he’s still out with an upper-body injury.

  • 1.0 Unit Bet – VGK ML +127

Vegas is playing better as of late; they’ve won six of their last seven, and Adin Hill has a .927 SV% since the start of January. The model sees Vegas as home favourites, so we’ll happily take them as +127 home underdogs.
