Daily NHL Betting Guide – 11/14/22

Welcome to our Betting Guide brought to you by NHL Betting site Betway!
Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2022-23 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via Betway), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets
As of 11:00 AM ET, the model was not recommending any bets for Monday’s four-game slate. All games came out on the number, so we’ll revisit things this afternoon. In the meantime, I’ve provided a couple of prop bets that look good tonight.
BONUS: Prop Bets
Brent Burns ov2.5 SOG (-175)
Burns is averaging 4.1 SOG/gm this season. The -175 line suggests there’s a 63.6 percent chance of Burns hitting this mark, but Burns has topped 2.5 SOG in 11 of 15 games (73.3 percent). The Hurricanes will face the Blackhawks, who are giving up the fifth-most shots against per game (34.3), increasing Burns’ chances of hitting this prop for the seventh time in eight games.
1 Unit: Burns ov2.5 (-175)
Brock Nelson ov2.5 SOG (-145)
Nelson had an absurd 10 shots against the Blue Jackets on Saturday and has topped 2.5 shots in 10 of his last 13 games (76.9 percent). Today the Islanders will take on a Senators team that is giving up the eighth-most shots against per game (34.0).
1 Unit: Nelson ov2.5 (-145)
