Daily NHL Betting Guide – 11/19/22

Welcome to our Betting Guide brought to you by NHL Betting site Betway!

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2022-23 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

NHL MODEL PICKS

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via Betway), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets

Columbus Blue Jackets (vs. DET) +114

The Red Wings have struggled to keep the puck out of their net recently, and the Blue Jackets have played well despite all of their injuries, winning three of their last four while averaging 4.8 goals per game. The Blue Jackets are +114 underdogs, but the model sees them as home favourites (-117).

1 Unit Bet: CBJ ML +114

Colorado Avalanche (@ WSH) -115

The Avalanche haven’t played their best hockey, but they continue to find ways to win, reigning victorious in five of their last six games while averaging 4.2 goals per game and 2.2 goals against. Meanwhile, the Capitals are on a three-game losing skid and have dropped eight of their last 10. The model views Colorado as -149 favourites, so there’s a lot of value on them at -115.

2 Unit Bet: COL ML -115

Tampa Bay Lightning (@ NSH) -123

The Predators have won three in a row but continue to get outplayed and rely on Juuse Saros to bail them out. They will face another elite goalie tonight in Andrei Vasilevskiy, and the Lighting come in on an impressive three-game winning streak, scoring 15 goals (5.0 GF/gm) vs. the Capitals, Stars and Flames. Tampa is -123, but the model views them as much, much larger favourites (-171).

2 Unit Bet: TBL ML -123

St. Louis Blues (vs. ANA)

The Blues will be without Vladimir Tarasenko (illness), but this is still a game that they should win. The Ducks have not won in regulation this season and come in at 5-11-1. The Tarasenko news has the Blues coming in at -184, but the model sees them at -227.

1 Unit Bet: STL ML -184
