Daily NHL betting guide: April 1

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets
St. Louis Blues (@ EDM)
After another win last night, we’ve hit two in a row and four of our last six. The Blues have also won two in a row, coming off of back-to-back wins over the Canucks and have split the season series with the Oilers to date. As sizeable road underdogs (+138), the value recognizes some value on the Blues.
1 Unit Bet: STL +138

Arizona Coyotes (vs. ANA)
Even with the Ducks on a back-to-back, the Coyotes are in a tough spot without Clayton Keller (leg) and Lawson Crouse (hand) for the rest of the season. Those are two key cogs in their top-6 and will make it very difficult to produce offence for the rest of the season. The model hasn’t had a chance to adjust to these injuries yet.
Yaremchuk’s Picks
Yaremchuk’s Pick – Nashville/Tampa Bay regulation parlay (+170)
The hot streak continued last night as three of the four bets nailed with all three of them paying plus money. Tonight, I’m once again grabbing the two biggest favourites on the slate and parlaying them in regulation. The Lightning are playing the Blackhawks, who are not only playing the second of back-to-backs but they lost 4-0 to the Panthers last night. They also have just three wins in their last ten. The Predators have won two in a row and are 6-4-0 in their last ten games and while they are facing a Sabres team that has been playing their best hockey of the season recently, I still like the favourites.
Yaremchuk’s Prop – Brayden Point over 0.5 assists (+100)
This guy has picked up an assist in four straight games and tonight, the Lightning get to play the Chicago Blackhawks. I’m all over this bet at +100. I’m also going to take Anthony Cirelli to pick up an assist at +165. He’s hit this bet in three straight and has five assists in those games. The Lightning should steam roll the Hawks tonight.
