Daily NHL betting guide: April 26

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets
VAN/SEA Under 6.5 (-112)
The model sees this as the best under option tonight, with a total expected goals of just 5.9. The Canucks have been in some higher-scoring affairs as of late but the Kraken are no strangers to low-scoring games in 2022. The Kraken have lost each of their first three meetings with the Canucks this season, scoring just two goals in each game. Even with Spencer Martin starting, I’m not too concerned about the Kraken finding offensive success. Seattle’s goaltending has been better recently as well, giving up 3.0 goals per game in their last 10. This has the look of a 3-2 or 4-2 Canucks win, so under 6.5 seems to be a nice play.
1 Unit Bet: VAN/SEA Under 6.5 (-112)
Yaremchuk’s Pick – TOR + TB regulation parlay (+107)
This one is not exactly the juiciest parlay, but I like both of these teams tonight. The Leafs are 7-2-1 in their last ten games and they’re facing a Red Wings team that has just four wins in their last ten. The Lightning have scored 22 goals in their last three games and tonight they’re facing a Blue Jackets team that has dropped four of their last five. I’m also taking the Canucks on the puck line tonight. Yes, Vancouver has dropped three in a row and has fallen out of the playoff race, but they’re 4-0-2 on home ice this month and the Kraken are 0-2-0 on their current road trip. I think the Canucks can win by two and the +115 payout is solid.
Yaremchuk’s Prop – Onrej Palat (+150) & Brayden Point (+115) over 0.5 assists
I’m backing a pair of Lightning forwards tonight in their matchup against the Blue Jackets with the hopes that at least one will get an apple tonight and we’ll come out ahead. Palat was on a four-game assist streak but it was snapped in their last game. Point has picked up an assist in back-to-back games. Both of these feel like good spots tonight.
