Daily NHL betting guide: April 4

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets
Columbus Blue Jackets (vs. BOS)
The Blue Jackets are on a six-game losing streak but were very competitive against the Bruins on Saturday and will get another crack at them tonight. The Blue Jackets are +200 home underdogs and the model sees plenty of value on them at that number. They will get a boost tonight with Zach Werenski (upper-body) returning to the lineup.
1 Unit Bet: CBJ +200
LAK/CGY Over 6.0 (+100)
The Flames were one of the best defensive teams in the NHL through the first five months of the season but have been a lot more leaky as of late. In their last seven games, there have been an average of 7.4 goals per game, with the Over 6.0 going 4-2-1. Similar things can be said about the Kings. There has been an average of 6.3 goals per game in their last eight games. Over 6.0 has gone 2-2-4 in that stretch.
1 Unit Bet: LAK/CGY Over 6.0 (+100)
Proceed with Caution ⚠️
Arizona Coyotes (@ STL)
The Coyotes were able to pull out a victory in Chicago last night but are in a tough spot on the tail-end of a back-to-back with Ivan Prosvetov getting the start. Prosvetov has a SV% below .900 at the AHL level and is 0-2-1 with a 4.00 GAA and .865 SV% in five career NHL appearances. Additionally, the Blues are 3-1-0 in the last four while averaging 4.8 goals for per game.
Yaremchuk’s Picks
YaremchYaremchuk’s Pick – Boston/St. Louis regulation parlay (+143)
I swear every time I bet on the Rangers they find a way to let me down. Very annoying. Missed both bets yesterday, but I’m back with another regulation parlay tonight! The Bruins have the 2nd best points percentage in the NHL since the beginning of March. They’ve been an absolute wagon for a while now and they get to play the same Columbus team that they just beat over the weekend. The Blue Jackets are getting back Zach Werenski tonight so that worries me a little, but Boston should still win. The Blues have been very average as of late but they’re playing an Arizona team that has just three wins in their last ten games and played last night. The Blues should be able to beat a team that’s starting Ivan Provsetov.
Yaremchuk’s Prop – Patrice Bergeron over 0.5 assists (+125)
He’s hit this mark in four straight games and has back-to-back multi-assist games! I’m not sure why this line is still as high as it is but we hit it last week and I think it’s a good spot again tonight. The Bruins have played the Blue Jackets twice in the last month and have scored five goals in each game.
