Daily NHL betting guide: December 10

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bet
Vegas Golden Knights (vs. PHI)
The one definite bet we are looking at tonight is Vegas over the Flyers. Philadelphia is on a 10-game losing streak and has been outscored 47-to-18. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights are on a three-game winning streak and have found their offense as the team continues to get players back from injuries. The Golden Knights are nearly at 100 percent now and should have no problems against the Flyers on Friday.
1 Unit Bet: VGK (-237)
Lines To Watch
Nashville Predators (at NJD)
This bet is reliant on the Predators starting goalie. Juuse Saros has missed the last two games due to an illness and is questionable to be available on Friday. The Predators are on a back-to-back, so it’s unclear if Saros will be back, if David Rittich will start for a second straight night or if Connor Ingram will make his third career start.
Monitor the starter’s status when the Predators hit the ice for warmups at 7:00 PM ET and bet them at -101 if Saros gets the nod.
1 Unit Bet: NSH -101 (if Saros starts)
Winnipeg Jets (at VAN)
This is another bet that is going to require you to monitor the starting goalie. Connor Hellebuyck went last night but wasn’t overly busy, facing just 25 shots. After tonight, the Jets are off until next Tuesday, so it’s not out of the question for them to go back to Hellebuyck tonight. If it’s Eric Comrie, this bet becomes much riskier. The Canucks have also been better under Bruce Boudreau and it’s going to take the model some time to adjust to the “new” Canucks.
1 Unit Bet: WPG +124 (if Hellebuyck starts)
Tyler Yaremchuk’s Picks
FLA regulation (-180) + COL regulation (-200) parlay
This is the first time this year where I’ve recommended a parlay and usually, I stay away from them. But I actually think there is some good value here.
The Panthers are coming off a loss but are in a great bounceback spot against a Coyotes team that has dropped three in a row.
The Avalanche are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and get to go up against a Red Wings team that lost last night to the Blues. Detroit very well could be going with Thomas Greiss in net (still unconfirmed but Nedeljkovic started last night) and he’s allowed 11 goals in his last three starts. That’s not a great matchup, considering the Avalanche have scored 26 goals in their last five games. Combining these two bets pays out +133 and I love that payout.
Adam Fox over 0.5 assists at BUF (-150)
Not a great payout here, but I love this spot for Adam Fox. He just had his seven-game assist streak snapped against the Avalanche and has only gone back-to-back games without an assist once this season.
The Rangers are also playing a Sabres team that has allowed 15 goals against in their last three games. Fox should be able to find the scoresheet tonight.
