Daily NHL betting guide: February 11

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Model’s Picks
Line to Watch
New York Islanders (@ EDM)
The Oilers are set to play their first game under new head coach Jay Woodcroft and come into the game as -144 favourites. With the model seeing the Oilers as -112 favourites, it sees value on the Islanders at +130. It’s not quite enough to recommend a bet, but if you can find them around +134 then it becomes a 1 unit bet.
Tyler Yaremchuk’s Picks
Game Pick
Tampa Bay vs Arizona over 6.0 (-120)
The Lightning are playing the second of back to backs and the over is 3-0-2 when the Lightning play in this situation. The Coyotes aren’t good, but I think they should be able to slide a couple past Tampa Bay’s backup Brian Elliott. Karel Vejmelka has also allowed 20 goals in his last five starts. Give me the over tonight!
Prop Pick
Brayden Point over 0.5 assists (+115)
Point has hit this in three of his last five games and the Lightning are massive favourites tonight against the Arizona Coyotes, so they should be able to produce a little bit of offense. Like I outlined above, I think this game will be high scoring so betting on one of Tampa Bay’s best offensive producers to pick up an assist and getting a plus money payout is good enough for me.
