Daily NHL betting guide: March 1

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Yaremchuk’s Picks
Game Pick: Colorado & Tampa Bay regulation parlay (+140)
I like both of these favourites to win in regulation tonight and parlaying two big favourites has worked out really well for me so far this season. Colorado is 22-3-2 on home ice and Tampa Bay is 17-4-4 at home. Tampa is playing Ottawa and they’re below .500 on the road and have just four wins in their last 10. The Avalanche are taking on the Islanders who are also below .500 on the road and in their last 10 games. Let’s hope the two favourites roll tonight.
Prop Pick: Martin Necas over 0.5 assists (+200)
This price is just off to me. Necas has hit this mark in 50 percent of his last 10 games and has a total of six assists in that span. The Canes should be able to get some offence going tonight against a Red Wings team that had the highest goals against per game in the league during the month of February. Necas is playing on the team’s second line and second powerplay unit as well. I like the +200 number.
