Daily NHL betting guide: March 15

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.
During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.
NHL MODEL PICKS
Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.
You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.
I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.
The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bets
Arizona Coyotes (@ MTL)
The Coyotes are coming off of another win last night and have now won five of their last six games while averaging 5.2 goals per game over that stretch. They will be looking to close out their impressive road trip with another win tonight and the model likes them yet again. Arizona won their first meeting with the Canadiens (5-2) back on January 17th. Montreal is a different team these days but you could say the same about Arizona. The model sees this as nearly a toss-up game (+105) but the sportsbooks have Arizona as +154 underdogs. There’s enough value there to recommend the Coyotes for the fifth time this season.
1 Unit Bet: ARI +154
Proceed with Caution ⚠️
Vegas Golden Knights (@ WPG)
Vegas has lost the first four games of their road trip, which finishes tonight in Winnipeg. Despite playing their worst hockey of the season coming in and missing eight players from their regular lineup, they are only small underdogs (+118) against the Jets. The model is barely recommending a bet tonight and it’s not seeing all of the bodies that they are missing. It’s not enough of an edge to buy into.
Yaremchuk’s Picks
Yaremchuks Pick – New York Rangers -1.5 vs Anaheim Ducks
The Rangers are 4-2 this month and have covered the puck line in each of those victories. They’re playing well and looked very good in their win over Dallas on Saturday, erasing an early 2-0 deficit en route to a 7-4 victory. We nailed the over yesterday, so let’s see if we can make it two in a row!
Yaremchuk’s Prop – Cole Caufield over 0.5 assists (+115)
‘Goal’ Caufield? More like ‘Assist Caufield’! That joke was terrible but Caufield has been an assist machine recently hitting this number in eight of his last ten games. On top of that, the Canadiens are playing the Coyotes who have given up 17 goals in the last five games. The +115 payout is really nice here as well.
