Daily NHL betting guide: March 2

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

NHL MODEL PICKS

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Model’s Picks

Line to Watch

Nashville Predators (@ SEA)

The model isn’t firmly suggesting any bets tonight but is very close on the Predators. Nashville currently sits as -173 road favourites but the model likes them closer to -165. If you search around and get a better line, the Predators have a good shot in Seattle, especially with Chris Driedger getting the start for the Kraken. Driedger has allowed at least three goals in four straight games and is 1-6-0 with an .891 SV% in his last eight appearances.

Yaremchuk’s Picks

Game Pick: Nashville regulation vs Seattle (-110)

The Seattle Kraken have lost seven consecutive games with six of them coming in regulation. The Predators have been up and down recently, but they are rested after playing in the Stadium Series game on Saturday and they’ve been a dynamite road bet this season with a record of 15-9-4. I like them to win tonight against a Kraken team that is an abysmal 9-17-3 on home ice.

Prop Pick: Mitch Marner over 1.5 pts (+125)

I like the Maple Leafs’ offence to roll tonight and while it’s hard to find value on them tonight against the Sabres, I do think Marner can keep his hot streak going. He has multiple points in three straight games and five of his last ten games. The Sabres have been struggling to keep pucks out of their net lately with 25 goals against in their last five games. I like the Leafs to score a lot tonight and I like the chances of Marner being involved.
