Daily NHL betting guide: November 19

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Recommended Bet

Colorado Avalanche (@ SEA)

The Kraken comes into Friday’s game on a five-game losing streak and losers of seven of their last eight. Meanwhile, the Avalanche improved to 4-1-0 while outscoring their opponents 24-to-12 in five games without Nathan MacKinnon this season. Seattle will turn to Chris Driedger to try and right the ship tonight, but so far he has given up five goals on just 30 shots (.833 SV%).

The Kraken haven’t played poorly, but their goaltending has let them down –a date with the Avalanche is not a good remedy.

Winnipeg Jets (@ VAN)

Winnipeg comes in on the tail-end of a back-to-back but they are playing outstanding hockey at the moment. They are seventh in the NHL in xGF/60 (2.54) and ninth in xGF% (52.68). The Canucks find them at the other end of the spectrum, sitting 26th in xGF/60 (2.16) and and xGF% (47.38). Winnipeg is the superior team but you can get them close to even money because of the back-to-back and Eric Comrie expected to start.
