Daily NHL betting guide: November 30

Getting a little skin in the game can make watching NHL hockey even more exciting.

During the 2021-22 season, Daily Faceoff will help you become an improved bettor thanks to this betting model and our betting tools.

NHL MODEL PICKS

Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

You can quickly determine which teams are the best bets by following this simple table:

All “Recommended Bets” are 1 unit wagers.

I will also provide some analysis on the best bets and update this post throughout the day to point out big injury news, lineup changes, and backup goalies starting.

The number to keep an eye on is the “Diff.” which is the percentage difference between the model’s projected Win% and the projected Win% based on PointsBet odds. To find out how odds turn into percentages, use our Odds Calculator.

Brock Seguin’s Pick

Line to Watch

Tampa Bay Lightning (@ STL)

The model is not suggesting a bet based on the current lines at PointsBet but one game to monitor (or find a better line) is Tampa Bay @ St. Louis. The model likes the Lightning if you can find them closer to +101 than -106. We’ll see if the lineup information will change the line at all, but it’s the only one worth monitoring today.

Update (1:05 PM EST): With it now being reported that Brian Elliott will start in favor of Andrei Vasilevskiy on Tuesday, the outlook on this game has changed dramatically.

The PointsBet Canada odds have moved in the Blues’ favor, making this less of a game to watch than it was this morning.

Tyler Yaremchuk’s Picks

Game Pick

Yaremchuk’s Pick – Minnesota -1.5 (-140) vs ARZ

All right, simply fading the Coyotes bit in me in the behind last night, but luckily our boy Yanni Gourde came through with an apple and still made it a profitable night. Today’s play is less about fading the ‘Yotes and more about betting on the Minnesota Wild. They’ve won three in a row and not only do they have six wins in their last 10 games, but they’ve covered the puck line in five of those. They’re also one of the best 5-on-5 teams in the league, have a 7-2-0 record on home ice and I suppose that it helps that they’re playing a Coyotes team that is playing the second of back to back games.
