Each day we will look at each game, the Sportsbook Odds (via PointsBet), and the odds of each team winning based on the model created by Philip Bulsink. Based on those two numbers, we can quickly identify which teams we need to bet on, which teams to avoid and which lines to keep an eye on throughout the day.

As mentioned yesterday, it’s going to take the model some time to adjust to some of the teams that made big changes in the offseason. We paid the price last night, not waiting to see how it adjusts to a Kings team that looks dramatically improved.
This offseason, the Devils added Dougie Hamilton, Ryan Graves and Tomas Tatar. The model will likely be a little lower on them to open the season, however, their injuries should help offset any of that. Miles Wood, Ty Smith, Damon Severson and Mackenzie Blackwood are all expected to miss the season opener and the model sees plenty of value on the Blackhawks at +115. The Blackhawks got off to a slow start vs. a powerhouse Avalanche team but will have a much better chance tonight.
