The Dallas Stars are riding a four-game winning streak against the Nashville Predators as the teams prepare to meet outside at the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day. The Stars have already beaten the Predators once this season, winning 4-1 as +130 road underdogs on the NHL odds on December 14 behind goals from Blake Comeau, Roope Hintz, Jamie Oleksiak, and Andrew Cogliano. Anton Khudobin got the start for the Stars in that contest, holding the Predators to just one goal on 38 shots. Ben Bishop is likely to get the nod on Wednesday.
Austin Watson scored the Predators’ lone goal in that loss to the Stars two weeks ago, with Pekka Rinne surrendering four goals on just 22 shots. Nashville is coming off consecutive losses to the Penguins in a home-and-home series late last week, getting outscored 11-6 in those games in a pair of OVER results on the betting totals. The Predators are 4-5 overall in their last nine games, with the OVER 6-1 in their last seven outings. The Stars are 3-3 in their last six games, and the OVER has managed to pay out four times in their last five contests.
