Oilers vs Maple Leafs | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Maple Leafs -172 Favorites
Edmonton will try to break a two-game skid against the preseason favorite to win the North Division in Toronto. The Oilers have been outscored by two goals or more in each of their three losses this season, including two in a row. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs have won three of their first four games to start the season, although two have been decided by exactly one goal. Toronto has won seven of the past eight meetings with Edmonton dating back to 2016.
Sharks vs Blues | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Blues -167 Favorites
St. Louis will go for its third victory in four games this year and attempt to beat San Jose for the sixth straight time following a 5-4 win as a -180 home favorite on Monday. The Sharks led the Blues 2-0 and 3-2 before giving up three of the last four goals, including the game-winner from Jordan Kyrou at the 10:28 mark of the third period. Goaltender Devan Dubnyk made his first start between the pipes for San Jose and surrendered all five goals, so look for Martin Jones to be back for the rematch despite giving up eight goals on 61 shots in splitting his first two starts.
Wild vs Ducks | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Wild -139 Favorites
Anaheim is hoping for another strong performance from goalie John Gibson as the team hosts Minnesota for the second time in three days. Gibson was stellar in net for the Ducks on Monday, stopping all 34 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory, rewarding backers as +120 home underdogs. He has started all three games for Anaheim so far this year, allowing only one regulation goal in the last two combined, with the UNDER cashing both times. The Wild had won their first two games over the Los Angeles Kings in overtime, with the OVER cashing twice.
Canadiens vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Canadiens -116 Favorites
Montreal will look to win for the third time in four games as well when the team visits Vancouver for the first of three consecutive games. The Canadiens are coming off a two-game road sweep of the Edmonton Oilers, outscoring them 8-2, with the UNDER going 2-0. The Canucks have lost eight of the past nine meetings in this series but won the most recent game between the teams 4-3 in overtime last February 25 as a +120 road underdog. Vancouver has gotten off to a slow start this season, losing three of four, with the OVER also on a 3-1 run.
Coyotes vs Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report
Opening NHL Odds: Golden Knights -204 Favorites
Vegas will play Arizona in the second of four straight games as the lone 3-0 team in the NHL right now. The Golden Knights stayed perfect Monday by rallying back from a 2-0 deficit in a 4-2 victory as -200 home favorites with four consecutive goals, the last of which was scored by Reilly Smith on an empty-netter with only 12 seconds remaining to cover the puckline and push the total OVER the closing number of 5.5. The UNDER had cashed in the previous four meetings. Smith scored two goals while Max Pacioretty added his third in as many games. Marc-Andre Fleury owns a 10-7-1 career mark versus the Coyotes with a 2.18 goals-against average.
