Jets vs Senators | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Jets -128 Favorites

Winnipeg and Ottawa will be playing against each other for the second time in three days, with the former defeating the latter 4-3 in overtime in a pick’em matchup on Tuesday. Nikolaj Ehlers scored the game-winning goal in OT for the Jets, who trailed 2-0 and 3-1 before rallying back with goals at the end of the second and third periods to tie things up. The Senators have lost their last two games overall by one goal apiece, and they are now riding a three-game skid in the series. The OVER has cashed in five of the past six meetings between them as well.

Flyers vs Bruins | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Bruins -130 Odds

Philadelphia embarks on a four-game road trip with the first of two scheduled for Boston on Thursday. The Flyers won three of their first four games at home, all by three goals. The OVER also went 3-1 in the first four for Philadelphia. Meanwhile, the Bruins begin a four-game homestand after losing two of three on the road, with the UNDER cashing each time. Boston has lost five of the past six meetings with Philadelphia, with the UNDER on a 4-1 series run.

Lightning vs Blue Jackets | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Lightning -175 Favorites

Tampa Bay will head back to the ice in the first of two games against Columbus after sweeping the Chicago Blackhawks in a pair to kick off the team’s defense of the Stanley Cup. The Lightning have not played since January 15 due to a COVID-19 outbreak for their next scheduled opponent – the Dallas Stars – in a rematch of the 2020 Stanley Cup Final. Now they visit the Blue Jackets, who they knocked out of the postseason last year in five games. The UNDER has gone 4-1-1 in the past six meetings and 3-1 for Columbus this season overall.

Devils vs Islanders | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Islanders -179 Odds

New Jersey will go for its third straight victory in the first of two consecutive games versus the New York Islanders. The Devils upset the New York Rangers 4-3 on Tuesday, cashing as +130 road underdogs behind three points from second-year center Jack Hughes (two goals and one assist). The Islanders have won two of their first three games too and got a strong performance between the pipes from goaltender Semyon Varlamov in a 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins as +115 home dogs on Monday. Varlamov had been hit by a puck in the neck prior to New York’s 5-0 loss to the Rangers on Saturday and did not play. He has two shutouts in his two starts.

Canadiens vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Pick’em -111 Odds

Vancouver halted a three-game skid on Wednesday with a 6-5 shootout win over Montreal in the first of back-to-back games. The Canucks had lost eight of the previous nine meetings in this series but have now won two in a row thanks to two goals from Bo Horvat, who also netted the game-winner in the shootout. The Canadiens saw their two-game winning streak come to an end, but they have won three straight in the second game of a back-to-back situation. Vancouver has lost four in a row under the exact same scenario along with six of seven.

Avalanche vs Kings | OddsShark Matchup Report

Opening NHL Odds: Avalanche -179 Favorites

Los Angeles has played opponents tough through three games but has yet to earn a victory heading into a rematch with Colorado to close out a two-game series. The Kings fell 3-2 to the Avalanche as +210 home underdogs on Tuesday, getting two goals in the third period after trailing 3-0. Goalie Calvin Petersen (21 saves) cleared the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol following a stint on IR and made his first start of the year in net for Los Angeles to give Jonathan Quick a break. Colorado won as a -250 road favorite after losing eight of the previous 11 meetings.
